picklepopper1 Would there be dire consequences if I uninstalled and compiled it from GitHub source? Would it still update then since I didn’t install from Solus repositories?
If you compile it from source I think the update process will still pull the latest version of libusb
becase there are a lot of packages that have libusb
as dependency.
From eopkg info libusb
you can see that there are a lot reverse dependencies:
Reverse Dependencies: rtl-sdr gutenprint calibre cinelerra-gg libusb-32bit gnome-boxes acsccid dfu-util hplip-drivers
dolphin-emu upower retroarch cups android-tools qemu gvfs ccid openrgb wraith-master libgpod
dfu-programmer usb-modeswitch libgphoto2 usbredir libusb-dbginfo xboxdrv libticables libusb-devel
spice-gtk openocd sane-backends libsigrok guvcview avrdude libdc1394 hidapi
gstreamer-1.0-plugins-bad libftdi1 yubikey-personalization usbutils flashrom freerdp lirc
heimdall libgusb libmtp ddcutil libusb-compat mixxx wine ardour utsushi usbmuxd
Anyone of these will require the instalation of libusb
.
