Windows 10 file backup (not system) tool suggestions

Hi y'all,
asking for my partner. I got her a nice TB external.

We used Window's native 'Backup' to finally copy all her work usb's and critical HD info.

Hated it. I found the app very limiting and anti-intuitve in every way. Nothing addressing the recursive and dates and properties like Grsync does.

All I can find is bloated freeware you need a give all your info to download...some on a trial. (man I don't miss that crap at all).

Can anyone recommend a grsync-like file backup tool for Windows 10.

a good file sync app for W10 seems like a mythical creature. I forgot how weird freeware was with this platform. Will turn my attention to YouTube vids.

You could make a FreeFileSync profile. Bonus since FOSS/cross-platform and incredibly robust.

Why exactly is FileHistory insufficient again? About as easy and hands-off as backup gets.

Saijin_Naib The File History component of Backups appeared to leave me minimum control, so I didn't use that. Only used the program once and I she might have to keep using it.

FreeFileSync or RoboCopy if you prefer cmd line. RoboCopy is already included in Windows. And there is also some GUIs for it like https://github.com/Cinchoo/ChoEazyCopy (yeah the name is stupid, but it does the job).

I would use Windows 7 Backup. It's still in Windows 10, just search for sdclt.exe and in my opinion it does it's job very well.
If it doesn't has to be free I like Easeus Todo Backup Workstation.

kaktuspalme I am thinking the native tool will have to be the best. I don't want to tangle with EaseUS or sign-ups. I'm so glad I left the Win world. Thanks for that.
