steam just stopped working

i was in it a few hours ago

since the exit i installed lutris and retroarch

now when i try to launch it

$ steam

Running Steam on solus 4.2 64-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is disabled by the user

Is your system fully up-to-date and did you restart since the last kernel update? I see a few posts online of that happening with a graphis driver mismatch.
