I am experiencing a rather annoying bug of some sort: my screen does not always refresh properly.
I think the problem is best explained with some examples:
- In Firefox, whenever I would switch tabs the new tab often does not become visible for a few second or until I would click my screen anywhere, the refresh is also extremely sluggish while scrolling sometimes.
- In gedit and texstudio, text I'm typing sometimes doesn't show up for a few seconds. Tabs also don't instantaneously load as happens in Firefox.
- In Matlab, the command window does not immediately output results, but they only appear after I hit enter a second time.
Let me stress that my computer is not hanging, but the screen does not seem to keep up with what is happening sometimes (not constantly though).
I know this is a pretty vague description, but I don't really know where to start diagnosing this. I think it started after some update a few months (at least 4, possibly even 6) ago, but I didn't notice it immediately (or at least, I didn't notice that it wasn't a one time thing). At the time I was extremely busy with work so I kind of rolled with it and assumed that I would not be the only one experiencing this and that it would get fixed in the next update. Updates never fixed it, however, and I don't seem to find anything about it on the forum or on reddit.
Any suggestions on how to solve this, or at least how to diagnose this correctly to file a bug report?
I'm running Solus on a Thinkpad T460, with an i5-6200U CPU and integrated Intel graphics.
Thanks!
