Proteus nodq Have not logged in by remote. Also no the system is installed on a regular EXT4 filesystem. Trust me 🙂
otavioschwanck Proteus Are you using a proprietary drivers? Try to reinstall than. And your kernel modules, show for us: cat /etc/default/grub | grep GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT and try to regenerate it with mkconfig: sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
Proteus otavioschwanck The first line generates this: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" I'm not sure what the second thing you wanted me to do creates or changes. So I'm waiting with that one.
Proteus This is truly a real russian doll. Stuff inside stuff inside stuff. Well I checked the log again and found even more strange stings (but the previous issues are gone): Parent 2015, Gecko_IOThread Warning: Broken Pipe There are a number of errors regarding the new Firefox. There is also a dconf warning where Firefox is denied access to /usr/lib64/firefox/firefox:2410 /var/lib/snapd/desktop/dconf/Profile/user. Maybe some of this has something to do with the program opening so slowly...
otavioschwanck Proteus are you using the snap of firefox? try to uninstall. Maybe, try to disable snapd. (sudo systemctl disable snapd<press tab here>)
[deleted] I've got Dropbox app too and haven't had any issues regarding boot times. You could try running fsck manually on your linux partitions.
Proteus [deleted] I know, never had any issues before either (except when Dropbox scanned at the same time as journaling was working). But removing it from autostart made a real difference.
Proteus otavioschwanck No, I'm using a regular install of Firefox. With the exception of system files via snap like: Core, Core18, gnome-3-26-1604, gtk-common-themes - I only have htop installed via snap. Nothing else. Will it affect the system if you disable snapd?
otavioschwanck Proteus try to reinstall the nvidia driver, As I recall, nvidia drivers have some kernel parameters
Proteus otavioschwanck Ok, will try that. But it has to wait untill tomorrow. I have to go to bed now. But what happens to the system when I disable snaps? Those things installed via snaps, do they affect the regular user experience at all if nothing else is run from snaps?
