Since I changed to Plasma on my media machine, only one problem remains, and I'm hoping someone here will have a helpful suggestion.
I can't access any of my NAS shares, because Natilus always attempts to connect with them using Samba, for which there are no SMB passwords set, and thus it only allows root to access them. Nautilus never attempts an anonymous connection, nor does it attempt to connect using NFS. Naturally, I'm not using the machine logged on as root, so none of the shares are available.
My Synology NAS offers both SMB and NAS, and every other DE on Solus accesses these shares via NFS, without ever asking which one to use. I have no idea why Plasma tries to access them like a Windows client. Since this is a media machine, and I can't connect with my Videos or Pictures shares, it's a serious problem.
I installed Caja (which does not default to SMB), just to get the access I need, but I'd much rather use Nautilus on Plasma. Can anyone suggest a way I can make that happen?
