Lutris - problem with working of particular game (COD: Black Ops)

Hello,
My problems looks difficult cus I don't know what to do with not working game. Well, at first I tried to run Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 on Steam Play or Proton, but without success. I took it a step further and used the Lutris program, which allowed me to run Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 smoothly. But I don't care that much about this game. When I turn on my favorite title, i.e. COD: Black Ops, the message WIN_IMPROPER_QUIT_BODY and then EXE_CANNOT_FIND_ZONE appears. I have not found a solution to these problems on the net. Should I ditch this distro and try another one, or could I upload a Lutris log here and believe that some good soul will take a look at it?

The copy protection on Call of Duty: Black Ops prevents it from working through compatibility layers like Proton and Wine, so it won't work on Lutris either regardless of the distro you use. Your only hope would be to download a cracked version of the game and replace the game's EXE with the cracked EXE, but as that's illegal according to US copyright law, I wouldn't advise it.

serebit Thanks for reply. Yep, it can be. I just wonder why I was able to play COD: BO on another distro running at about 5fps (more or less) via Wine without tricks (cracks) 🙁. I think at the time I had this option, to play smoothly, but probably I didn't have NVIDIA drivers set up, so I quickly gave up, not realizing, that you have to first check what drivers for graphic card are used.

Ditching the distro won't help since the games anti-cheat engine doesn't work on Linux or is configured to block Linux users. Instead of ditching the distro I suggest supporting Linux game developers or developers like Blizzard who allow it. There are plenty of anti-cheat engines that work on Linux that developers can use which is why Blizzard titles work.

I don't mind being a support (I'm donating money to charity as much as I can) but the thing is, on another distro (either it was Ubuntu or Manjaro, I don't remember) I managed to get the game up and running but it worked like a slideshow and I didn't realize that you need to install the drivers first. If I had a mind, like a long time ago, I would even be able to get to the bottom of the problem and fix it somehow, but I have become a person with a disabled mind (unfortunately :3) and I could only point out that the bells are ringing, but not necessarily in which church (problem may be dxvk). I can't compile anything and that's the biggest problem. However, I won't give up that easily because I don't want to go back to Windows (yet).

Maybe it worked with VKD3D instead of DXVK? Should be a check box in Lutris to enable DX12. I want to add games take a few minutes to compile shaders which is the reason they play as slide shows.
