Budgie bottom bar cpu-use widget?

I looked up notes from when I last ran Solus a couple of years ago, had a widget placed at the middle of the bottom bar and it showed as I recall cpu load and temp (as well as the same for the gpu via
nvidia-smi --query-gpu=temperature.gpu --format=csv,noheader,nounits
nvidia-smi --query-gpu=utilization.gpu --format=csv,noheader,nounits )

A piece of a discussion around it was here https://solus-project.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7758 (dead link) and likely referred to budgie-cpufreq-applet here because that's what I've noted that I used:

Now it seems most suggestions revolve around Conky and that's fine if there's such a widget that is rather minimal-looking and can give me the same numbers. Haven't found such yet.
Haven't really found functioning reference to how a .deb widget might be loaded for Solus either...

..so my real question is : is there a rather minimal widget for budgie that I can place in the bar (or on the screen if bar not possible) that can show me either strings from commands I can define myself, like cpu temp from sensors and gpu temp and load from nvidia-smi, or in itself cpu/gpu load/temp? : )

Ephebopus I think you are referring to this applet https://github.com/Dirli/budgie-cpufreq-applet which is now archived in github. This project is abandoned and maybe it isn't working anymore.
Another developer forked it and made this applet: https://github.com/prateekmedia/budgie-systemmonitor-applet.
It isn't available in the Repo, but you can always compile it.

algent Thanks. It seems to have built okay, what with a few warnings ("paths starting with /apps /desktop or /system are obsolete"). The installer script put things here and there, including
Installing src/libbudgiesmapplet.so to /usr/lib64/budgie-desktop/plugins/com.prateekmedia.systemmonitor

I feel a bit awkward asking but where is it supposed to be available? If not immediately then what more to do? The instructions stop after "Building from source" and I've had a look in Budgie desktop settings, bottom panel, add applet and there's no system monitor there.

Ephebopus If you installed it then log out and then log in. After that it will be availabe in "Budgie-Desktop-Settings" > "Panel" > "Add Applet"

algent Thanks, I was just missing logging out. As I did though I got a black screen with "Unrecoverable failure in required component budgie-wm.desktop"..but a reboot from tty2 later the sysmon widget is available. It shows cpu utilization in a fairly unobtrusive way, which is part of what I wanted and a step in the right direction : ) The app/widget I had earlier offered fields where custom commands could be run at a given interval which was very useful to include precisely what you wanted and could get via a cli. It had to be formatted into a string that fit the bottom bar. What I used then was customizable and this sysmon I just installed is not (though it is fairly useful). I actually found a scrot I took of my desktop then:

Would be interesting to try and install it again if I could rediscover how : ) Grr, I'm usually pretty good at documenting.

I think I used one of those .deb-things for I only documented the launchpad.net link and ".deb" and some sparse things but nevermind all that for with the name I found and this referenced repo that has the eopkg https://github.com/giovannicaligaris/juno-computers-solus and this https://github.com/fossfreedom/indicator-sysmonitor which I used and which had slightly better installation instructions : ) and it seems to work 🙂 I'm a happy fish tonight
