Hey everyone,
random freezes with my AMD Ryzen drive me crazy lately. I wonder if anyone over here is running a similar setup and may be able to help. I am on a Lenovo Thinkcentre M75s-1 with two DisplayPort monitors. Things I have tried:
The latter two seem generally promising, since I have had only one freeze since (which is a crazy thing to say). The relevant journalctl gave:
[drm:amdgpu_dm_commit_planes [amdgpu]] *ERROR* Waiting for fences timed out!
...
[drm:amdgpu_job_timedout [amdgpu]] *ERROR* ring gfx timeout, signaled seq=5057339, emitted seq=5057341
[drm:amdgpu_job_timedout [amdgpu]] *ERROR* Process information: process Xorg pid 938 thread Xorg:cs0 pid 951
That is after firefox spammed the logs with:
g_hash_table_contains: assertion 'hash_table != NULL' failed
and
[Child 2485, MediaDecoderStateMachine #5] WARNING: Decoder=7fdbf0490400 Decode error: NS_ERROR_DOM_MEDIA_FATAL_ERR (0x806e0005) - RefPtr<MediaSourceTrackDemuxer::SamplesPromise> mozilla::MediaSourceTrackDemuxer::DoGetSamples(int32_t): manager is detached.: file /home/build/YPKG/root/firefox/build/firefox-85.0/dom/media/MediaDecoderStateMachine.cpp:3465
I'll continue to investigate and can provide further logs if necessary.
