I'm not sure which software or component is responsible for this.. so I'm just framing this as a general question, not a support request.
In Budgie, if I right click a file in the file manager and choose "Open With Other Application" and pick one from the list, not only does that open the file in the selected application as it should, but it also permanently changes my default file association for that extension until I manually go and change it back.
This gets a little frustrating, because I use the "Open With" feature as a one-off. For example, I might want to edit a PNG, so I open-with Krita. But 99.9% of the time, I still want PNGs to be associated with the Image Viewer app.
Is there any way to disable the automatic file association change? If not.. can you point me in a direction where I can suggest this?
I think Windows handles this properly.. it gives you a checkbox to remember your choice, which is unchecked by default. So it only remembers it if you explicitly tell it to.
Thanks!
