Snap cannot mount apps, exit status 1

Hello. Has anyone run into an issue installing snap applications? I can't get anything to install. Everything fails on Mount with exit status 1. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

I can install spotify fine. But chromium will not install giving the same error.

It is possible this is because the snap is broken or because Solus is on an old version of snapd and can not upgrade without breaking other packages at this stage: https://dev.getsol.us/T8609

Can you try installing the spotify snap, see what happens?

Thanks, Harvey. Yeah, I actually just managed to install the snap store, which then failed to install Zoom, which is what I'd been trying from the terminal. And you're right, Spotify installed correctly (it threw an error about /snap/bin not being in my $PATH, yet the app starts fine from the menu).

This is unfortunate. I was thinking Snap would be the best way to install any 3rd-party app that wasn't in the main repos, in order to easily get updates, etc.

Yeah I got the same error not really sure what that is about. If you echo $PATH you'll see /snap/bin is in the PATH 🤷‍♂️

Also worth checking if there are flatpak's or appimages for the applications you wish to install if snap is not working for some specific applications.

Thanks for the advice, @Harvey, Yeah, I went immediately to Snap because it was referenced somewhere as a place to start for apps not in the Solus repositories, but flatpak is a good idea.

Josh68 there is a Zoom flatpak available, but it can be problematic sometimes. Need to make sure you stay on top of flatpak update
