I'm currently running on the testing Plasma iso, but I've installed the Budgie desktop components, so that I can choose either environment.
I'm now trying to unKDE the Budgie environment somewhat, my current hurdle is that the clock/date applet on Budgie is opening two Okular windows instead of the calendar. This is very odd behavior, does anyone have a suggestion to unsnarl?
Oh and the 'Date and Time Settings' on the widget appear to do nothing (probably the same problem).

Mixing DEs is never easy or clean. Removing Okular will dis-associate it with the calendar.

Actually Justin, something you said on another thread gave me the solution, I didn't have gnome-calendar installed. You mentioned that clock used it as the calendar.
Any solution for the 'Date and Time Settings' on the clock? I feel this is something missing too, but can't eyeball it from eopkg search.

Got it, gnome-control-center. I'd think that gnome-calendar and gnome-control-center should be added to the solus desktop reqs.

dbarron They're not required for the desktop to operate. When installed via the ISO (supported method) they are included.

Correct, but the functionality of the panel and applets are impeded and there is no visibility that they require something else. Doesn't that mean that those widgets REQUIRE those pieces ? 🙂

Could say that I guess. The applet should just be configurable to open a specific calendar (unless it is already).

Justin It'll specifically open gnome-calendar if it is available. Not planning on adding additional features to Budgie 10.x though, but it's entirely possible that we can expand on "Default Application" selection in our own Control Center to include stuff like calendar setting, and utilize that for Raven's Calendar widget, for Budgie 11.

Expanding on that, having evolution-data-server (EDS) integration for Calendar and upcoming Events is something I look forward to adding.

Sounds like a good plan, whenever it happens. Glad to have pointed it out. I other than the two gnome programs called by the calendar, I haven't really noticed anything missing from adding budgie-desktop to the KDE ISO.
