I appreciate the feedback on the installer and recognize there are many pain points around its behavior on creating EFI System Partitions, which disks it chooses, etc. I've run into this myself when installing Solus on an NVMe drive.
That being said, I do not anticipate that the installer will get some love before Solus 4.2 (coming soon, but no ETA), nor do I expect it to see any major changes until the planned rewrite into the desired two-stage installation that we want to enable us to resolve many of the problems with the current implementation. At this moment in time, the Installer is not a high priority item. We are currently working our way through a backlog of software that has either been written for Solus, or used by Solus, and rearchitecting them to meet our expectations or replacing them with software that will. For the time, the Installer largely accomplishes our goals, even if there are bugs and issues around it, so it is low on the priority list.
