George It's not our responsibility to police code use by other projects. It does not appear the author intends on taking GNOME to court over this. Considering that Jamie is likely a US citizen, such infringement is considered a federal crime. If the allegations are true, then any copyright lawyer worth their salt would be willing to take their case, possibly even pro-bono. To the best of my knowledge, copyright infringement has a 3 year statute of limitations for discovery, but some federal courts have also said the 3 year period starts at the moment of infringement (which would be long gone by now). IANAL, but I think Jamie might still have a case if they can prove it in court. The fact that they don't seem to be taking this to court is a bit suspect to me, but maybe there's more going on here that we aren't aware of.
However, in lieu of any specific evidence or legal action, I do not believe we need to take any actions at this time.
