Complete install of Budgie Desktop aside Mate

Hello,

I had installed Solus Mate for a friend, but she would like to change to Budgie, whom she obviously finds more beautiful. I looked for the cli on this forum, and I know I read it somewhere, but I can't find it, or I dreamt it.
So, what is the client for a complete installation of Budgie desktop by a terminal, something like eopkg install budgie-desktop-all-with-dependencies-and-it's-done-and-I'm-happy. 😄

stalebrim old post I know but when I try to install budgie I get:

There is no component named budgie-desktop

Updates available, checking reverse dependencies of runtime dependencies for safety.

No packages to install

Done, but I can access the global settings I had on mate desktop, I need the settings like in budgie to be able to tweak a bit.

sangheeta Ah, you need to install gnome-control-center separately. Most likely also nautilus

Note: if you remove MATE, you need to install gnome-terminal or you'll have no terminal app

Ah, I meant "I can't access...".
Otherwise, I found the gnome-control-center, it's done.
And we're going to keep Mate.

sangheeta Aight, good that it got solved. For other probably missing Budgie stuff you can refer to Harvey's post.

stalebrim yes, I've seen it, I installed all the the necessary packages and the complete Budgie desktop is now well there. Easy! 😀 I just have a problem with the font shadow color on the desktop. I will check Mate settings, maybe it override.

He said desktop.budgie not budgie-desktop. This is also documented in the help center https://help.getsol.us/docs/user/software/desktops/

It also appears from your output "Updates available, checking reverse dependencies of runtime dependencies for safety." that you have updates available, always make sure you are up to date before trying to install new packages.
