No longer able to switch the primary display

I don't know if this has to do with any recent updates but as i said in the title i can no longer switch the primary display using the GUI. I was moving some stuff around and decided to try switching the displays just to see how i liked it and when i went to switch it back after i was done the button no longer worked. Any advice you can give me on how to fix this would be much appreciated

I don't know if this is related as well, but in addition to not being able to change the primary display I can no longer change the screen resolution or the orientation. I am using a Radeon 5700xt and I did not download any additional drivers just did a complete fresh install.

EDIT: So I have figured out a few workarounds for now since the Display section of the settings doesn't seem to be working correctly right now. To be able to change your Primary display just switch your display mode to "Single Display" and then switch back and if you are having trouble with screen orientation or resolution like me just use xrandr in my case "xrandr --output DisplayPort-2 --rotate left" worked for me

Thanks for the hint on xrand. For me it worked with

xrandr --output DP-2-2-1 --rotate left.

My setup in short:
1st: Internal display turned off via settings.
2nd: Primary display (Lenovo P27-q10) then becomes display via DP-2-2-8 (weird name for me🙂
3rd: Daisychained DP-2-2-1 display (Eizo FlexScan L675) via dvi-adapter.

Best of all - the switch for changing the rotation in gnome gui is back in action after that.

I have same issue. My display setup is 1366x768 built-in laptop display and 1920x1080 display with hdmi connected.
I always use 1920x1080 display as main display but can't change it using displays in the setting. Primary Display area isn't selectable.

Yes, this issue was reported upstream to GNOME Control Center.
