My two cents: if you need to work with something with multiple possible versions (like Java, Python or Nodejs, for example) use something that gives you the ability to create virtual environments in userspace instead of relying on system versions of said languages. So better to use something like SDKMAN!, virtualenv (which is in the repos, by the way, sudo eopkg it virtualenv
) or nvm (for Java, Python and Nodejs respectively).
