it changed location of all desktop files. this can't be fixed. I can't put my trash where I like it. If I drag and drop any icon it does not drag and drop, it just launches it instead.
So I can't fix exploded desktop or relocate anything.
Added drop shadows to all the existing typeface on the icons.
changed size of desktop icons.
changed font, kerning, spacing of type on desktop folders and icons.

I can live with all this except having no power to move desktop folders. Which settings restores my ability to simply drag and drop folders?

The ability to move any desktop items to arbitrary locations is not something that is going to be supported with the new desktop icons implementation. We're leveraging a GtkFlowbox with a specific sort function to ensure consistency.

The drop shadow is intentional to ensure the text is readable on light backgrounds.

Drag and Drop is planned for 1.1.
