VS Code, Sublime Text, Jetbrains IDE's, Android Studio, Google Chrome, Spotify can be installed with two commands from the 3rd party repo. Or via GUI with one click, but terminal install seemed to work a bit better.
Firefox is the default browser, Brave and vim are one command in the terminal. Neovim can be pulled as an appimage without any hassle.
All node/yarn stuff can ofc be installed via terminal, same goes for composer.
PHP version in the repos though is 7.3.19 last I checked, and PHP 8 around the corner hopefully this will be updated to atleast 7.4 in the near future.
Until then, if you want to use the newer versions, the solution is to use XAMPP or run your stuff in containers (docker, vagrant, devilbox(no experience with this but lets throw it out there anyway).
Laravel valet for linux does not work due to the fork not recognizing php-fpm as installed because unlike many distros, Solus bundles it with the core PHP package and the valet linux fork only checks it individually apparently. This is not Solus' fault, but its unfortunate.
LibreOffice, Blender, Krita, GIMP etc available in repos.
Eopkg is great.
I guess only way to really know is to run it for a while and see how you feel.
