Samba share issues

I have been having some issues with connecting my samba share to my apple tv on my home LAN.
The share shows up perfectly fine on both Windows and Linux systems in my home.
But, when I launch VLC on my apple tv generation 4, it only shows fileshares from my Windows devices.
Tried making a entry in VLC, like I first did on my linux device, like this smb://rig/ms.
Does the apple tv by default use the smb 1 protocol, or is there something else I am missing?
Didn't find a good answer anywhere else when googling, so thought I would just ask here.

Some older devices use SMB1 which is outdated. You can enable it with this entry:
client min protocol = NT1
More samba info here (Read the Epilogue :-) )
On Solus you can just add your modifications into /etc/samba/smb.conf
It gets merged with /usr/share/defaults/samba/smb.conf
Then check the samba configuration with testparm and restart samba:
sudo systemctl restart smb
