Black screen when trying to boot Solus Iso on a Macbook Air 2011

when I choose Solus 4.1 I just get a black screen. I've tried OpensuseTW, Kubuntu 20.10 and Manjaro and they all boot fine.

I've already tried adding nomodeset in the parameters, but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

I don't have an answer for you, but I wonder if Solus is not recognizing your GPU.

from the pic, mac's bios (or whatever) recognizes iso, so boot order obviously not the issue.

If you click main site above, then help center/installation there are very precise instructions for creating .iso on mac. if you abided by that, then I would think stinky usb.
this is also an interesting thread about an older mac. Note "weird limbo period 64/32 info and I believe the op that thread had success with an optical over usb media approach.

When looking around I saw that gpu problems like this should get fixed using nomodeset, buy yeah, no luck for me.

It's really weird too, right now I have Manjaro installed on it and everything worked fine out of the box, I also gave Kubuntu and Opensuse a try and everything was perfect. I'm really curious to know what exactly is not working with solus right now

This seems interesting, I'm gonna give it a try and report back (actually nevermind, mine is already from 2011, it wasn't caught in the limbo.)
