  • Unexpected behavior when switching application with Alt-Tab in Budgie

I have window grouping enabled (Budgie Desktop Settings->Bottom Panel->Icon Task List->Window grouping).

Say, I have a multiple Chrome and multiple Firefox windows open (it's independent of the applications though) and a Chrome window is currently active, then
1) I left-click on the "stack" of Firefox windows on the bottom panel which opens the last Firefox window that was active some time before.
2) Now if I use Alt-Tab I would expect that Budgie takes me back to the Chrome window where I came from. But what happens is that Alt-Tab brings me to another Firefox window instead.

That drives me nuts because I use Alt-Tab a lot.

Can I somehow configure Budgie to take me back to the previous window (except disabling window grouping)?

I also have window grouping enabled. I haven't been able to recreate your problem with either SUPER+TAB or ALT+TAB shortcuts. I end up getting the result that you were expecting.

Is the irregular result you're getting similar to if you press ALT+F6 (Switching windows of an app directly default keyboard shortcut)?

Leandros_Adigard Yes, behaves like Alt-F6. Your feedback that it works for you, got me thinking and I played with the other options for Icon Task List. It appears that what I observed is related to the "Show all windows on click" option that I also had enabled. When I disabled that, switching started working as expected again. I don't even remember why I enabled that option. Thank you for taking the time trying to recreate my issue!
