Hi there, i want to install a driver for my Asus Zenscreen - it sadly doesn't work without. Asus offers a linux driver, but when I run the .run file it quits with the error that DKMS is required. I read in the forum that Solus OS does not support DKMS and that you need to compile the drivers yourself. I have no clue how to do that. All the driver comes with is one .run file. Can you help me?

Driver is here: https://www.asus.com/Monitors/ZenScreen-MB16AMT/HelpDesk_Download/

    Just remember that

These packages are not official, they are neither supported nor endorsed by the official Solus devs. Do not ask for help in Solus's help forum, instead create an issue.

In other words, you break it, you fix it.

kilianv3 This driver won't work with any of the currently supported Linux kernels, regardless of whether or not we have DKMS.

Support Ubuntu 20.04, 19.04 and 18.04 & Linux Kernel version range is from 4.15 to 5.5.

kilianv3 First, it stinks that you need a special driver just for a monitor to work. Second, for future reference, if you find you need DKMS, consider multi-booting and install Debian or a Debian derivative. I know DKMS is available in the Debian repos because I use it for a Broadcom WiFi chip proprietary driver and one other program, either WINE or VirtualBox.
