I have been using Solus GNOME for more than two years on my machine, however, recently some things have started to fall apart.

For example, GDM seems to give a blank screen (not a full freeze) after most (60%?) boots, which is solved by pressing (shortly) the power button, and in this way having the system shut down cleanly and then restarting it by pressing it again. In some cases more than one attempt is needed, which is quite annoying. Any of you know what may be causing it, and what I could try?

Thank you.

Also switching to console, stopping the GDM service and restarting it solves it. No weird GPU drivers, just a plain Dell XPS 13 with Intel graphics

I am happy that you have a fairly simple way to solve these problems. Are you sure this is GDM acting out? Could be failing ram or a glitch in a current linux kernel?
