Hello all! I've experimented with running a 'head-less' Solus, so I could try out some window managers. I didn't try to make them fancy etc, just to see if that would make any 'real' difference in my 'user' experience.
Well, boy, I feel really spoiled by the Solus team. I am running Budgie and, I must tell you, it beats the crap off other window managers. In other words, it would take quite a bit of time and effort to replicate the Solus Budgie experience.

By the way, there is no real difference in the RAM used. Hats off to the dev team. I hope I will not EVER have to leave Solus! 😁

I can say the same thing, but only one thing is missing for me and that's hot corner option for exposing running windows. It's very convenient when panel is set to auto hide, but it's not dealbreaker. Maybe it will be added in future as option in budgie desktop settings.

Yeah, the VBox always hides behind all running/active windows, and I have to minimize them in order to get to it. Hassle. Why can't it come out to play when I click on its icon/applet? Instead, when I click on the VBox icon, a new instance of the program is run. That's not the standard behaviour on Budgie.
