I can't be positive when I first noticed this -- other than it was recently. But I can't pin it down to today's update. It could have been last week's update or even before that.
After I've installed an update, I reboot, of course, with a reboot
command in the terminal. Lately I've notice that the machine doesn't actually restart in a reasonable time. The screen turns not-quite-black, but without a restart. I need to hold the power key down for about 4 seconds to shut down entirely, then press it again to restart.
On the other hand, if I restart with the icon in the system tray, the computer shuts down almost immediately, and restarts as I expect.
Has anyone else noticed this?
