Touchpad scrolling not working after sleep mode

As the title says. I have a Lenovo X240 notebook. When I close the notebook it goes idle, when I open it I should enter my password but then my touchpad scrolling is not working. If I restart the machine, the scrolling will work again. Any idea? Did someone else experienced this aswell?

I know this post is a month old, but it was the first post listed by google (solus thinkpad trackpad not working after wakeup) and if someone else has this problem: you can temporarely fix it by opening a terminal and executing the following:

sudo modprobe psmouse -r; sudo modprobe psmouse

Fixes the problem till next wakeup.
