Hello! I have a doozy on my hands. I've installed Solus several times on other machines without a hitch and loved it. The speed and improvements on documentation for development have inspired me to install it on my main laptop and see how it goes. However, the installer always gets stuck at 'unmounting filesystems', no matter how long I leave it.
I decided to poweroff when it got to that point and see if it would boot, and it does...except the window manager (EDIT: Actually windows do open from the alt-f2 prompt, so it's really just the main Budgie interface) fails to load at all when I login. I alt-f2'd into the terminal, connected to the web and tried to install the NVIDIA drivers, as I figured this could be a Wayland thing. But before I could, Budgie crashed and showed a prompt to log out, and I couldn't access anything. Next time I booted, I couldn't even log in - it went to a lonely useless underscore cursor.
Would I be better off trying to chroot into the system from the live media and attempt updating from there or should I try the installer for the nth time and try and race against the clock? Or is there a way I can boot into the shell and attempt a fix from there?
BTW: Stable install, Acer Aspire laptop, NVIDIA graphics card, definitely meets the system requirements.
