I am able to get WoW running with Lutris very easily. I have all the dependencies installed according to Lutris and this post.
I had the same problem in Ubuntu and it took me several hours to fix, but eventually I got it. Had to install the ge-protonified
runner in Lutris. But I'm not seeing it at all in the runners menu for Lutris in Solus. Excessive time to fix was partially due to my poor investigative skills, but mostly Ubuntuforum's poor response of course.
Anyone else have the same issue? It's pretty much random, but it happens very often (more than several times per minute). At first I thought it was when I was holding down more than a couple keys already, but sometimes it happens when I'm not even pressing anything yet. It's like it just doesn't register the keystroke. This does not happen in normal use or any other game. Just WoW and WoW Classic (both installed through Battle.net launcher in Lutris). Maybe it does in other Blizz games too, but I couldn't tell you because I don't play them.
EDIT:
Disregard.
I found the answer here on Lutris.net. Just do a ctrl+f for keyboard
and it should come up with one result , and then there's a reply that contains the answer.
Basically, the lutris-4.20
and newer runners can cause this problem, so install the lutris-4.16-x86_64
runner and then go into the Configure menu in Lutris for your game > Runner Options > Wine Version, and set to lutris-4.16-x86_64
.
I'm not sure if this is a common problem or I'm just lazy because other people are figuring it out without searching for it (and therefore not posting about it being a problem), but that's what worked for me.
