I'm rather new in the Linux world, and since the start of this year I've been doing a lot of "distro-hopping". I find it so exciting to use a different system! It reminds me of the time I was obsessed with trying different ROMS on my little Galaxy Y, back in 2012.
Yesterday I found out that Solus 4 Fortitude was released so I quickly downloaded and installed it and boy is it good.
Couple of points:
It has an awesome interface. From the icons to the widget style, it's simply beautiful; definitely an upgrade from Adapta, which felt "too simplistic" for a desktop
The Budgie Menu is perfection. On all the desktop environments I've used the menus are either 5 or 50; some open super fast but lack functionality; others are feature rich but aren't responsive or fluid to use. This one though, for me, is the perfect balance; it looks good, opens instantly everytime and searching is quick as well. I've always wanted to find an application by just typing it's name and hitting enter; and the budgie menu does. I love it.
The font rendering is the best of all distros. On my 1080p monitor, within every Linux flavor, small text was always blurry, almost impossible to read, especially on Firefox's address bar and on Youtube; here on Solus the text is always clear, no matter the size.
Some cons as well:
The keyboard repetition rate is not fast enough. I have set it on max, but it is still slow to hold'n repeat, compared to other distros.
I feel the window manager is very slow when moving windows around or resizing; (again) compared to others I have used, like Metacity, Compiz or Kwin, which are butter smooth even with my old hardware.
There should be an easier way to access the Budgie Settings and make it clear it customizes the appearance. The option to show the "energy bar" on Raven, for instance, should be on by default.
Nautilus is bad. It is way, way too basic on top of also lacking a lot of things that you expect in a File Manager. Like, I can't even go back with backspace and can't edit the shotcuts either. For me, Caja is the way to go.

Also, the forums could have a "preview post" button.
Solus 4 is an all around awesome and consistent OS which I'm looking foward to growing a habit to use it instead of Windows. Thank you for everyone that made this beautiful thing!
