Minecraft will no longer launch

Greetings!

I've had Minecraft on my system for some time now, I get around to playing it whenever I have some downtime or just want to relax. I haven't played Minecraft in maybe 2-3 weeks, but the last time I did it booted up just fine. Tried running Minecraft today and got the error message shown in the screenshot below. I tried reinstalling it, but that didn't seem to fix the issue. Looks like maybe it thinks I don't have any Java on my system, but as far as I am aware I haven't uninstalled it. Not sure if perhaps a recent update borked it, but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! (On Solus Gnome 3.36.2 unstable btw)

Looks like this issue affects Minecraft, but I feel like a fool at the moment because I don't know how exactly to fix it. @Justin any thoughts? you're kind of the go to minecraft guy 😛

Scotty-Trees Yeah there was a change in how the java packages work. /usr/bin/java symlink needs to be added as Girt mentioned.

Justin this should be resolved as default as many people with want to use Solus outofthebox and are just normal people looking for nice system find a sonewall now. I meant I get you architectural point and for me is allright as it's easy to setup but my mother and father-in-law have Solus on their laptops installed. All they use them is youtube, browser, office and some really basic stuff for an average mrs/mr Smith wants there shouldn't be any issues with running by one button a simple game as minecraft. Handling environments variables for 90% users is nightmare. Just my two cents here from observation how many posts already are on this forum regarding java dependency setup

WhiteWolf There's no way to run Minecraft as a one-button install on Solus anyways. At the minimum you need to create a .desktop entry for it to show up in the menu. At which point it's trivial to set the environment variable as part of the Exec line. I admit that the Minecraft page on the Help Center needs updating, but this is hardly a world-breaking change.
