I had problems a while back installing, it would show some text then get lines on screen and nothing else happened, looking online I started the boot process with the nomodeset which seemed to show normal text then go to a flashing cursor.
Unless I am misreading things, you can bring up a terminal command before this and install a driver.
Note I know it is the driver as the graphics card has no issue in Windows, and a different linux distro has on its install options one specifically for newer Nvidia cards and that works great, but I want to use Solus, I prefer the lighter version even though I have high spec hardware (I hate bloat)
