I posted before about mkchromecast and I've since posted a query on the dev's Git page. There's a similar problem on the issues raised there but no solution.
Also since then, I've tried out puslaudio-dlna. I found the same problem of a long 40sec delay before any audio stream starts to play.
Both mk and pulseaudio-dlna pick up the chromecasts fine, and the chromecast audio i'm trying to use gives give the audio BLOOP confirmation as soon as it's selected. I tried installing Pavucontrol which allowed finer grained settings but didn't solve the lag.
As it's both programs, could it be a setting within Solus?
any ideas? anyone got either working well?
