Sorry I'm late to the discussion but I just installed my first snap package ever. The process is easy and looks nice in the terminal. It's also nice that it asks for your password if you forgot to sudo it.
But then I started the app and noticed: no integration in theme like stated above and snapd puts a folder in my home named "snap". Really?? That's MY home! Why not at least put a "." in front of the name or, even better, a ".config/"? That's like Microsoft whips its tail out of the darkness below like the thing in lord of the rings with Gandalf >:-/ Also, I find the whole mounting stuff and having its own daemon run all the time pretty convoluted, like something I'd expect to find in Windows. If you have ten snaps installed, calling "mount" without piping to grep is basically useless.
Am I an autist for not liking that? It just kinda feels like the thing is taking over the whole system putting itself everywhere like when you install Microsoft Office on Windows. I will now check out flatpak but something tells me I won't fall in love with it either. eopkg works like a charm for me by the way and so far I haven't missed any software.
