Printer settings don't detect my printer

Hello everyone,
I want to use my Epson Stylus SX205 on my Solus Plasma PC.
When I want to scanning a document, it work fine, but when I want to print something, it's doesn't work.
I have epson-inkjet-printer-escpr installed on my computer, but it's not solve my problem.

lsusb detect my printer
but if I go to the printer settings my printer is not showed.

I have restarted my computer 2 time and my printer is no detected.

LinkyWolfka Looking at this file your Epson-Stylus SX205 it is not in the list, that is why it is not finding it.

This meas it is not yet supported.

your computer was looking for the driver or couldn't interpet usb connection. that's why I suggested knowing the name of the driver.
you seem to have solved yourself with at least a workaround. so disregard--i got nothing

algent but this printer work great on Ubuntu based system, why it's don't work on Solus with the same driver ?
Here (on Solus) I have the driver for my printer

My printer can work with the driver for the SX200 without any problem. My printer can work on Linux, I want just to know what I have to do for using my printer on Solus.

Note: I have a really bad level in English, translation maybe inexact

algent I doublechecked you are right. I've been their a lot (epson) lately.

There's a mythical Ubuntu driver pacakge that will accommodate your Epson Stylus SX205----

these are 10 year old posts though but all about the SX205. Can't find nothing recent. If they did exist for Linux and now they don't does that mean they just weren't maintained?

but I've never done business with them; I don't have an opinion.

they claim in addition the the driver you have to install epson-escpr and gutenprint , cups etc. stuff you probably do have installed...

In 30 minutes of sleuthing I could find no patterns or consistencies which to me is odd...

ALso, can you find the name for this driver? YOu have that you might have a start. That's how I got my epson scanner running: it all started with the name. With the name I could double-check/cross-reference which models were accommodated by the particular driver. then finding the deb and rpm packs. After that it is more head-achey. Epson page changes EVERY time you do linux search....can be maddening. It wasn't easy but I'm glad I did it.

brent I don't all understand what you say, if you want the name of the driver or other.
Also I have a printer test page, He contain some information. ("job id: Epson_Stylus_SX200-1 " and "description: EPSON Stylus SX200" because by default it's use the SX200 driver and not the SX205)

note: for me the problem is just how to have the emplacement of the printer on my system, I think if I get the emplacement I could use my printer. But I not a expert and it's why I search help here on the forum.

My computer seem have the driver, the problem can be he don't know where is the emplacement of the printer ?

My problem is not solved, because using a virtual machine is not a good solution for me

Hello, I come back a few days later. The problem is identical to this one, by doing the same thing my printer could be detected. This solution only works for an impression from my side. After I have to do the same thing.

My printer is not that expensive. But I have also that kind of experience. Especially that I used Solus for my work. The office had a epson L3110 but I can't get it working on Solus KDE version. I had already look all for kind of solutions but still got nothing. I don't know anymore,

Please don't consider this an insult, but did you install the Linux drivers from the Epson website?
