I am a long time Linux user new to Solus. I just installed Solus 4.1 Plasma today and I am hoping some other people out there have done the same. We might just learn a trick or two off each other and make each other way much easier.

So I have only found one problem so far with the hard ware. Which is the built in FacetimeHD camera. I have had this issue before with other versions of Linux like mint. I had found a forum that which provided good information on what a person could do to correct. This involved getting the apple driver and using modprobe to make it usable by Linux. I dont have a solution for this yet but I am working on it and will post it here if I find it.

gmorg If you link to the forum post we can possibly assist with getting it working.

Right now I am adding the things I need to compile the driver. I feel like this is similar to the guidance I had used before as it contains the link to the source needed to compile the binary. Which is really what a person must have.

I discovered that Solus isn't ready to build packages out of the box but has instruction on what you need to do to add that capability.

Of course I am adapting it for Solus as I go. Which means i am having to learn for one thing what Solus is missing and build that as far as compiling packages. I had been hoping someone had already compiled a good driver for it. But I would have had to set my Solus up to make packages sooner or later I am sure. Out of the box it has been one of the most compatible wit this laptop so far. And very compatible with my display. This is a pre-retina display (I hear they have their own compatibility issues).
