Swap Auto Mounting

Installed budgie but swap doesn't auto mount
had to open gnome-disks then select swap partition
then gear sign then edit mount point
even though user session defaults is on and mount on startup is ticked, swap doesn't mount at startup
have to turnoff user session defaults only
then swap is auto mounted
hope this gets fixed in future budgie update 🙁

First I've ever heard of swap not getting mounted. Did the installer create it for you or did you manually create it?

I'd try to do two things with swap partition mounting.

Change the mountpoint from none to swap

From:

 /dev/disk/by-uuid/b25f1457-f59e-42a0-ba32-43d38c2a586f none swap sw 0 0

To:

 /dev/disk/by-uuid/b25f1457-f59e-42a0-ba32-43d38c2a586f swap swap sw 0 0

I use swap mountpoint, and never had a problem with swap partitions:

 ...
 /dev/sda3  swap  swap  sw  0 0
 /dev/sdb3  swap  swap  sw  0 0
 ...

Simplify device identification

From sophisticated:

 /dev/disk/by-uuid/b25f1457-f59e-42a0-ba32-43d38c2a586f swap swap sw 0 0

To simple:

 UUID=b25f1457-f59e-42a0-ba32-43d38c2a586f swap swap sw 0 0

Double check that the swap partition UUID is actually b25f1457-f59e-42a0-ba32-43d38c2a586f.

It already works
After i disabled user session defaults 🙂
I tried changing as u said in the past
Computer won't startup adter that
Had to reinstall solus

I had the same issue when choosing the manual installation path in the installer. The assigned swap partition was properly formatted, but does not get automatically mounted upon startup.

Inspired from the comment above I opened Disks (gnome-disk-utility), selected the swap partition in the Volumes visualization, then clicked the Settings gear icon, chose Edit mount options, disabled User Session Defaults. I did not change any settings as "Mount at system startup" was already selected before (but greyed out due to User Session Defaults being active).

Since then, when starting the system, it gets properly mounted automatically.

I'm running Solus 4.1 Fortitude, installed from USB, on a 12 inch MacBook Retina with 4 partitions on the SSD:
p1 (EFI fat32)
p2 (macOS apfs)
p3 (linux-swap)
p4 (Solus, ext4)
p3 was correctly selected as swap during installation, p4 as /

I just experienced this with Solus Budgie Fortitude 4.1, clean-install on UEFI system, using Auto/Guided installer for whole-disk, with LVM.

SWAP is not mounted at boot/login, system seems rather unstable compared to my past install on the same hardware without swap on.
