After installing Windows 10 as a Virtual Box guest, I faced extremely poor performance in the guest OS. To improve the slow performance I did the following:
1) Settings >> System >> Processor >> Increase Processor(s) from the default 1 CPU to half of what you have such as 4 out of 8.
2) Settings >> System >> Motherboard >> Increase Base Memory from the default 2 GB to half of what you have such as 8192 MB out of 16384 MB.
3) Now, start your Windows 10 virtual machine. You'll notice a difference.
4) Once you’re at the Windows 10 desktop, you’ll need to install all of the proper drivers for VirtualBox. In the VirtualBox UI, go to: Devices >> Insert Guest Additions CD image >> Navigate to that disc image in Windows Explorer >> And run the installer. Once you’ve gone through the entire process, you’ll need to reboot the VM. Yeat again you will notice a performance increase.
This way I managed to get the guest OS usable (Windows 10 guest on a Solus 4.1 host), but still it is not quite like I am used to with VMWare Player on a Windows 10 host. So any additional tips from you guys would be much appreciated.
