Little side project for the office. Had a spare case, 64GB of DRR5 laptop RAM, PSU, and a 2TB NVME. So I searched for a fairly cheap way to build an extra system to play on at work. Decided to go in a different direction and got a Minisforum motherboard with a built-in processor to take advantage of the spare RAM I already had. The bios is a bit wacky, but functional.
- MB/CPU: Minisforum BD795i SE which comes with a Ryzen 9 7945HX ($380)
- Power Color Reaper 9060XT 16GB ($369) (shown next to an old 2070)
Really crazy how small it all is.
Performance-wise is pretty solid, as is the cooling. Obviously not matching my main systems, but very playable. Way overkill with the case and PSU, which is an 850 watt Cooler Master. May get an ITX case down the road, but who knows? This is at the office.
