It's stranger than you think, I got a new cpu, board, and graphics card about a month ago and installed Solus Mate no issues first time, then I damaged my board when I had a graphics card issue (knocked off a coil when moving it) so sent it back and got another.
This had a slightly different model number but everything else was same - the difference in model number was due to my previous one having on board wifi and bluetooth but everything else is the same, again Solus installed no problem but I had to go back into case as 2 cables weren't attached right so got them working and damaged board in same place again (learned my lesson)
So I this time got the same board as the 1st one i.e the one with wifi and bluetooth (and added protection around the areas I damaged both times in the other boards)
Windows works, but I can't install Solus, or other distros such as Kubuntu what happens is I get the basic text menu at start. then it gives me a few linues then fuzzy lines and sometimes some messed up text.
I added nomodeset into the start and now I get more clear text and it goes into the blinking cursor when nothing else can be done.
I tried alt and F2, and ctrl, alt and F2 and other combinations and I'm getting nothing else coming up on screen to type into to install drivers.
Pc Specs by the way are i9 9900k and 2080ti, overkill I know but I wanted Linux as a backup.
The head scratching thing is why did it work with the other 2 boards, I can understand differences in boards but the 1st board is the same as the 3rd board in every way, and bios were all latest on each too.
