xlepws I had got the same issue with Debian 10, and solved with this procedure: https://kifarunix.com/install-virtualbox-guest-additions-on-debian-10-buster/ which however won't (of course) work with Solus Can you please help me?
xlepws Ok I found a good YT tutorial: and were eventually able to install the Guest Additions. But, once I reboot, I receive two error messages, and the display is not resizable to 1920x1080:
eryvile Two things: Solus already has the guest additions pre-installed, no need to do that manually afterwards! Be sure to pick the right graphics card in the settings of the virtual machine. I usually pick the VBoxSVGA card, which has no problems when you resize the window or go full screen to adjust the resolution
xlepws Choosing VBoxSVGA card will enable the 1920x1080 resize options, but it won't work well: The OS auto-resizes to 1280x586: I'm stuck at this point 😰
xlepws xlepws Well, the solution was easy: after resizing to 1920x1080 and seeing the screen bigger than it should be, a double Host+F (switching to - from fullscreen) did the trick!
downhill I had issues with attempting to run 1920x1080 resolution for a Solus VM under Debian and can't remember if I resolved it. I recently nuked the VM. Anyway, you could try one of the following: How to Make VirtualBox Full Screen: A Comprehensive Guide -- or -- mpack's response to How can I get 1920x1080 resolution for 23" Flat Panel, W7 VM?
kyrios Simply install the guest modules from the repository as explained in the Solus documentation. Regarding the screen resolution, simply change it from the Display settings on the guest machine.
