I know we have eopkg, which is slated to be superseded by sol. But why don't we instead adopt a different package manager like apt or pacman? Now I won't pretend that I know that apt or pacman all that well, but If some of the biggest distros use them, there shouldn't be any major technical difficulties associated with them.
Adapting a different package manager?
The big question, why adopt them? For what reason?
Xrey274 It has nothing to do with the technical difficulty of using them and everything to do with having control over the supported features and development direction. Why would we place the future of Solus in the hands of an upstream project that we then have to lobby for the features we want them to keep or add, when we could just use our own like we always have?
