Periodic 1 second hang every +/- 15 seconds

Hi all,

I have been using Solus on my personal laptop and home computer for a few months. No problem there.
Laptop is mostly just browsing while my home computer is for gaming.

I decided to reinstall my computer at work to use solus instead of ubuntu as I have a great experience at home.
There is 1 thing though that is not working properly on the work computer.
That is. Every +/- 15 seconds the system seems to hang( for lack of better word) for 1 seconds.
For instance as I type this, every 15 seconds there is a delay for a few character to appear.
When I am in a terminal be it local or ssh'ing to another machine. The same hang/delay in my input appears.
When I am browsing the web and scroll down it will do it too.

Honestly I don't really know what to search or look for. If someone has any idea.

Hi! I have had this kind of issue as Solus suddenly became stuck of lagging. On what kernel are you on?
On the Terminal type
uname -r

I switched to LTS kernel (installed from Software Center and choose under other options on the boot menu) and now I am running 4.9.215-155 LTS. Solus flying! You can see the topic here. It wasn't the USB3 card..

I had that too and switching to LTS helped a lot. Except that with LTS my wifi performance was really bad and bluetooth didn't let me connect things.

Oh!! I don't use wifi nor bluetooth so I was not aware of that problem.

As with others have mentioned, try the LTS kernel.

I will definitly try the LTS kernel.

One question that may be silly.
I have virtualbox installed using virtualbox-current.
I guess I just need to uninstall the -current one and get the one for the lts kernel and that it?

nokiomanz correct you need to switch to LTS drivers you can check what you have installed via
eopkg li | grep current
