stalebrim kiwi There's vala-panel-appmenu-budgie-desktop in the repos. Is that what you're looking for? 😀
sangheeta Budgie, because he meets my needs exactly, and he's super clean and he doesn't lose feathers. 😁
DataDrake kyrios I actually find it interesting that GNOME doesn't have votes because it's our second most downloaded ISO.
JacekJagosz kyrios Quickly, everybody write bots so Gnome gets some bots. When I asked Josh why does Solus have Gnome edition and if it isn't too much strain on the devs, he said that it is pretty easy to maintain. I can see why, looking at problems with KDE it might have better user/work hour ratio.
[deleted] DataDrake " I actually find it interesting that GNOME doesn't have votes because it's our second most downloaded ISO." Maybe it's for reviewing/testing purposes.
JoshStrobl JacekJagosz The reason why KDE is more involved when it comes to maintaining (thanks sunnyflunk and @Girtablulu ❤️ ) is because they have a much faster release cadence than GNOME does, which means more frequent updates and therefore more work to update the experience and test it.
bluvisnu Budgie of course, that is why is i am a Solus user because i want to use Budgie from its source, it is everything i am looking for in a desktop environment.
serebit Seems a little odd that the KDE edition is as popular on this poll as it is, when the ISO isn't even on the main download page! lol
MintSpider serebit I ran Solus Plasma for a few months. It works great!! Missing it already, so think I shall reinstall it when next I get time.
Max_The_Bear I Had been a Gnome user for many months, but just recently switched to plasma and really love it. It's a tad buggier than Gnome, and I really do miss those dynamic workspaces. That said, I really have fallen in love with some of the eye candy features of Plasma (wobbly windows!) and it's just easier to muck around with in general.
lightbodyae55 My vote is Gnome, I tried Budgie, but did not like it, as the task bar was at the top of the screen and at the time of testing I could not fin out how to move it to the bottom, so decided on Gnome which I have customised to how I want an OS to be. lightbodyae55
stalebrim lightbodyae55 Some right-click options (eg. when right-clicking a panel) would be welcome to make that easier
Staudey Budgie all the way! It just works, like Solus itself, so I haven't bothered to switch to something else. Also it looks pretty sexy, even with default settings.
alexukalex In all the distros that Ive tinkered with Ive found Gnome3 the easiest to navigate. Plus I wanted to get away from a desktop that looked like Microsoft windows. I see the vote difference between budgie and gnome though.... I should give Budgie a go then.......
