hitagiend Hi guys, I just installed Solus MATE on my brother laptop and when I tried to add a new user I was realize that I am missing User and Group button on Brisk menu. Any idea? Thank you, any replies will be appreciated
Girtablulu You need to use the terminal, don't quote me on this but as far as I understood the discussion the user management is completely broken, Mate relays on stuff which is unsupported up to 10 years but @kyrios probably can give you a better answer to this
hitagiend Ahh too bad, so the only way to do is through Terminal. I better switch to Budgie then because my brother just learned Linux so it'll too complicated for him for managing user. Thanks for reply. I'll mark as solved as well
dbarron Err, if it's a desktop, exactly how many times would adding a user or group be necessary manual (had to ask).
kyrios Yeah we have withdrawn the users and group for now but we'll introduce another tool later, sorry about the inconveniences. ☹️ There was a word about this in the last blog post (search for MATE). I would like to suggest @JoshStrobl to put some anchors on the next blog posts titles if possible & easy enough.
kyrios Justin Nope, the project is independant from MATE and I haven't seen any activity from the developer for ~ a month.
kyrios mate-user-admin has been added in the repository. The application is still in a early stage but it does the job.
