how to disable ACPI?

Hi all,

I need to disable the ACPI in solus.

Why?

My laptop : Dell G5 5587 doesn't recognize the AC adaptator anymore, it is clearly a faulty DC jack that needs to be changed, the laptop is out of warranty.
The only way to prevent it from throttling is to disable the ACPI.
Dell as put in place a fail safe in his laptop that will make the laptop throttle if a non-dell power supply is connected to it, but what do you do when you have a faulty DC Jack?

How can I disable the ACPI in Solus?

Try the kernel switch. Should work with your Dell for the time being.

Open Terminal:

sudo echo 'acpi=off' | sudo tee /etc/kernel/cmdline

sudo clr-boot-manager update

Reboot. Done.

Thank you for your help, it was a bas idea, I had to use a live solus usb drive to fix the kernel XD

You can close this post. I have solved the issue by replacing the DC jqck.
