Epson Dx4850 printer

Hi everyone, I'm new to Solus and want to say great job you developers. It's beautiful,sleek and fast. I was getting fed up of windows 10 lagging, software not responding and the never-ending circle revolving! I have installed Solus budgie 4.1 on a separate partition on my computer (at the moment). Unfortunately Solus does not find or recognise my Epson Dx4850 printer. I have installed the epson-inkjet printer-escpr from the software centre but still no joy. The printer is connected via usb to the computer (it has no wi-fi). This shows up as a volume under disks. I flashed Linux Mint to a usb drive to try it out and it found the printer and i could print straightaway without installing anything extra. I don't understand why it isn't the same on Solus. I would really like to stay with this distro. I hope someone can help here. Thanks in advance.

You may have to add the utsushi package for EPSON printers.
I know it's supposed to be for scanning with an EPSON printer but it also helped me when I tried to install everything needed to use my EPSON WorkForce WF-7710 printer/scanner/fax: Before it just wouldn't start at all, with the utsushi package it worked, not just the scanning module.
And if all fails:
I have successfully installed a professional printer driver collection from https://www.turboprint.info/: You can try out their linux driver package (which also has more options in its settings than most kernel-included driver packages) for a period of 30 days for free and without limitations.
The installation process is easy (I myself am not a techie) and if you don't like the driver package or if it doesn't work) you can always deinstall it.
