Getta91 Hi ! can someone tell me why I can't set this extension in gnome? My system is up to date and i have tried the browser addon method and the automatic one. Thanks for your help! https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/945/cpu-power-manager/
Getta91 Justin No but when I try to enable it in the gnome-tweak-tool, the icon in the taskbar just disapear. And even if I reboot, it will be enabled without a gui (icon in the taskbar)
Justin Getta91 I managed to add it directly from the browser. Try open Tweak Tool in a terminal to see if it outputs any error.
Getta91 So, as you said, I tried but Tweak tool show it is currently running. On the taskbar the icon apeared. I clicked on it and it asked me for my password. Then it just disapeared. I can still go in the parameter from tweak tool, but there is nothing to deal with here.
Justin Getta91 I didn't run their scary little shell script to install stuff, I just got the plugin to run. If you trust their shell script then try run sudo ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/cpupower@mko-sl.de/src/installer.sh from a terminal and let us know if it shows any errors.
WetGeek Getta91 i just went to budgie Welcome to the club. I think you might even like it a lot better. It's the DE that's never let me down.
Justin Getta91 Not sure Budgie even has a CPU power applet, but there could be a third party one. GNOME Shell extensions are VERY hit and miss in my experience, there's tons on the extensions website that just don't work.
Getta91 Justin yes I totally agree and this is one of the bad point of gnome even if it looks pretty...
mdk Hey, sorry to ressurect thread but had the same problem. Eventualy went to /home/username/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/cpupower@mko-sl.de/tool and ran ./installer.sh check which gave me: bash: ./installer.sh: line 133: cmp: command not found. It look slike solus comes without cmp command which is in the diffutils package. eopkg install diffutils Right click on "attempt tool update" and voila. It is working. Hope this will help someone.
