Software Center & MultiWriter

Hi there!

Today I needed to install MultiWriter from the Software Center (SC) and typed "multiwriter" into the search box within the SC. No result.
Then I typed "multi-writer": Found it!
That's rather strange as the app is actually called "MultiWriter" without the dash.

Just thought I mention it as it might help someone else to find the app who might not have the idea to try different spellings (only to realise that the original but unsuccessful spelling was actually correct...).

I typed in the word "usb" and MultiWriter is in my software center list. Also Etcher.

edit: I agree with you it would be strange if you didn't have it

And interestingly enough if you search multi writer it finds it. Search is a bit iffy. 😃

Justin I'm olde skool with search operands. I just would've typed "multi" all by itself and sift thru all results. I have never gone wrong casting a wide net.

Thanks for your replies, chaps!
But I never said I couldn't find the app in the SC, I just pointed to the incorrect spelling finding the correct software.
I knew what I was looking for and wold have found it in the end anyhow, but if someone isn't quite sure what to look for and gives up because the correct spelling delivers nothing that would be a bit stupid, wouldn't it?
And: I definitely like olde skool meself! 😄

SOLUSfiddler You are right fiddler. not everything spelled the way the software center spells is correct, especially when you prefer to use the terminal. I have 2-3 posts like yours recently. the last had to do with ninvaders and a certain letter that wasn't capitalized in the description. it happens. someone sent me an eopkg command to find the real names of all programs but I don't remember the thread (i.e. I forgot about it).
Last one I posted was entirely me: I was trying to install with a typo that confounded me...
