Back in December I changed my everyday laptop from Windows to Solus Budgie, and after a while I changed it back. I thought I would really miss Windows on that machine, and anyway, I had three Solus VM's on it.
It took me until now to realize that I don't really need Windows on that laptop after all. I was worried that there's no Linux software for our Ring doorbell and likewise for my label printer. But instead of using the doorbell video, I can just turn around and look out the window. And I can swap a Windows SSD into my development desktop in order to print labels.
So today I once again removed the Windows SSD from my laptop, installed a blank one, and installed Solus Budgie on it. Then, after discussing it with her, I removed the Windows SSD from my wife's laptop, and installed Solus there, too.
I spent all day configuring these two machines, but it sure feels good now!
